The Diamond Princess is a cruise ship owned and operated by Princess Cruises, built in Nagasaki, Japan by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, she was registered in Bermuda, and is 288.3 meters long, she has 37.5 meter beam, with tonnage of 115.875 GT, and total carrying capacity of 14.601 DWT. She has 1100 crews and 2600 passengers, and is currently sailing through Singapore – Thailand – Vung Tau (TCOT) – Nha Trang – Chan May – Hongkong – China – Japan. According to plan, she will dock at 6am and leave the same day at 6pm (local time).

Tan Cang – Cai Mep ODA Terminal (TCOT) is one of Saigon Newport Corporation’s terminal, located at Phuoc Hoa Commune, Tan Thanh District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. TCOT has total area of 48 hectares, 600-meter long berth, 15-meter water draft, able to receive up-to-160000 DWT container vessels. The terminal is equipped with 4 Post-panamax gantry cranes and 15 RTGs, annual throughput 1mil teus. With the advantages of logistics systems, market share, strategy, appropriate implementation, management and personnel plans, sustainable business plans and strong financial capability, with strong supports from shipping agents and customers, on December 30th 2013, Saigon Newport Corporation has signed a 30-year leasing contract with Vietnam Maritime Administration, the TCOT investor, after participating in the bidding process with domestic and international investors since September 2013.
The Cai Mep – Thi Vai International Terminal Development Project was invested based on decisions of the Prime Minister with aims to form deep water seaport system, synchronize modern infrastructure and logistics system, with great capacity to meet the rapidly-growing transportation demand in the southern region and the international transit of goods. Total investment of the project is 12,891 billion, including loans from JICA and reciprocal capital of Vietnam. The project was started in 2008, includes 6 construction packages and 2 consulting packages. Among them, the most important package is the construction package No. 1 of Cai Mep Container Terminal (TCOT), with total investment of 291,491,000 USD (6.071.169.000.000 VND).
