Following the trend in waterway transportation development and Vietnamese ports planning and development until 2020 of the government, Saigon Newport Corporation has built a new port in the south of Hochiminh City, namely Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal. This new terminal, which is located in Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, near Long Hau Industrial Park, at the confluence of Soai Rap River and Dong Dien Rive, after one year of construction, received its maiden call on December 15th 2014.

To better meet the increasing demand for empty container services, as well as to reduce pressure for Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal, Saigon Newport Corporation has opened several new depots. This is also a step to prepare for the removing of Tan Cang area next year.

Determined as an extension of Cat Lai Terminal, and a satelite port for Cai Mep Terminals, Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal is quickly constructed to go into operation this November

Despite the economic crisis and the challenges from competitors, some subsidiaries of SNP still gain profit in the first 6 months of 2014.

On 25 October 2013, Tan Cang Pilot Co Ltd (a subsidiary of Saigon Newport Corporation) celebrated the 5th anniversary and was honored with the third-class labor Medal.

On November 27th 2013, at Tra Noc port (section 18, Tra Noc I Industrial Zone, Binh Thuy district, Can Tho City), Tan Cang Waterway transport JSC (a subsidiary of Saigon Newport Corporation – SNP) held a ceremony to announce “Container operation cooperation” with Song Hau Food Company (under Vietnam Southern Food Corporation).

To implement the strategy of Saigon Newport Corporation on the business diversification, support for the port and logistics service development aiming at making the contribution to the improvement of the service quality, on 26th October 2013, Tan Cang Technical Services JSC (TCTS), a subsidiary of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP), launched M&R service for tank container at Depot 9 of Tan Cang – Cat Lai on the area of 3000 sqm.

On August 8th 2012, Tan Cang- Cai Mep International Terminal ( TCIT) solemnly organized the ceremony of receiving the first vessel of SVS service at TCIT- Vessel MOL Partner.

On 7 August 2012, Tan Cang - Long Binh ICD JSC held the 5th Anniversary ceremony, which remarks the process of establishment and development of the biggest ICD in the Southern Focal Economic Area.

On August 07th 2012, Tan Cang - 189 Terminal has successfully held the ceremony of welcoming the maiden call – Vessel Magellan Jupiter with 7977 DWT, LOA 133m, which is operated by SITC line.
