In the week 30, inspite of some objective difficulties such as the truck accident leading to the traffic jam for hours on Thursday ( 24 July ), Cat Lai port has seen more effectiveness of the receipt/ delivery activities and handling productivity in comparing to those of the week 29. Cat Lai stevedored 32 vessels. The average berth productivity in the week was 40.5 moves/vessel hour. The highest productivity has been reached during the handling of Uni Pacific V095B with 56.1moves/vh. The yard occupancy was 77.9%. However, the increase of the long- staying reefer inbound laden containers caused the obstacles for the outbound laden dropping off at Catlai Reefer yard. In the time to come, Saigon Newport will send the official Letter to the Services of Trade and Industry and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and co-operate with the relating departments in dealing with this problem so as to give more conveniences to those who export the reefer cargoes.
