The festival activities are exhibition of the agricultural gear, living devices associated with agricultural production, scientific conference to introduce the historical civilization of rice and cultural exchange activities, trade and investment promotion, marketing activities to promote farm product of Soc Trang province and Vietnam to international visitors.
All festival activities are aimed to celebrate the Vietnamese rice and farmers who have work very hard on filed and to further rice production in large scale, apply fully new scientific and technical advances into production, develop agriculture sustainably, effectively and qualitatively and competitively with competitive ability. During the festival there were conferences such as “Positioning Vietnam rice-Rice Vietnam, who sold-one to buy?”, “Soc Trang specialty rice, rice development path quality high", "Bai Xau (Ba Xuyen) - Soc Trang, from the first international seaports look to the future development ". Beside, there were four contests - including writing contest on "Bai Xau (Ba Xuyen)- International Commercial Port, then and now", a photo contest, “Vietnam’s rice with global climate change”, a “The Vietnamese high-quality rice” contest, a “Hick beauty” contest and five other programmes as following: “Come to Rice Festival II – Sóc Trăng 2011” forum, “Ngo Boat” race, “Com dep” (Flat green grilled rice) festivals, Excelent performances from difference ethnic groups, Vietnamese cuisin show. During four days of Festival, there were nearly 1,000 exhibition booths maily exhibited on rice, rice products and other agriculture products.
Atteding the festival exhibition Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) introduced the port and logistics service, particularly routes connecting the Mekong Delta with the port in Ho Cho Minh city and Cai Mep area.
