In an attempt to boost terminal operations and vessel productivity following continuous effort to invest on facilities and expand container yard, Cat Lai Port organized a meeting on the implementation of the new Port Closing Time (PCT) last October 13, 2006. Attending the meeting were representatives of more than 30 shipping lines now operating at Cat Lai Port.
At the meeting, the management of Operation Center reviewed the effective performance of PCT over 2 phases (Dec/15/2005 – June/01/2006 & June/01/2006 – present) and at the same time introduced the new PCT to all shipping lines as a result of thorough research, statistics and analysis of current operation activities. Many valuable ideas and solutions had also been proposed for the enhancement of customer services. The new PCT received crucial approval from representatives of most shipping lines, who further suggested on the adjustments of PCT by ETA with respect to international standard.
The new PCT is bound to officially take effect on November 15, 2006. By making use of the new PCT, Cat Lai Port looks forward to enhancing productivity, terminal operations and customer services, partaking in the economic growth and integration of Vietnam
