On the afternoon 3 November 2010, leaders from Saigon Newport Corporation and Binh Dinh Provincial Authority had met each other in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province. Taking this occasion, Saigon Newport would like to express deep gratitude to Binh Dinh Provincial Authority and relevant local authorities for their support and help for the construction of Tan Cang - Central Terminal as well as to foster relationship between the company and neighboring local authorities. Furthermore, Saigon Newport Corporation made a company presentation and introduced its development strategies and business plans in Binh Dinh Province in the coming time.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien - Party Chief of Provincial Committee praised outstanding achievements of Saigon Newport in excelling national defense duties and was especially impressed by rapid business development of the corporation by maintaining its leading position in terminal operations in Vietnam and ranked 40th worldwide, growing at over 25% annually on average with total container import – export throughput of 48% nationwide and 81% in the South (from Binh Thuan Province to Ca Mau Province). With 21 subsidiaries, in 2010 Saigon Newport Corporation is expected to reach total revenue of 4,000 billion VND, to contribute 300 billion VND to national budget and to collect 12,000 billion VND of import – export tax from its terminals and ICDs.
Mr. Thien also expressed his pleasure now that Tan Cang – Central Terminal would open this November and that Saigon Newport has built strategies to develop terminal, ICDs and logistics services in Binh Dinh Province, which is in accordance with and provide strong support to industrial development and maritime economy in Binh Dinh province in the coming time. “We will always provide full support to Saigon Newport for your presence and development of logistics facilities in Binh Dinh Province.”, he said.
Before, Saigon Newport had visited Binh Dinh Provincial Committee and congratulated on the success of the 18th Provincial Delegate Congress.
