In May 2011 the cargo throughput of Tan Cang – Song Than ICD was up by 8.16%, compared to the previous month. Container yard throughput increased by 3.08% while warehouse throughput grew up to 15, 27%. This is a positive sign for the company when the macro market is showing high volatility and uncertainty.
In term of investment, the distribution center of Kimberly-Clark Vietnam (KCV) has been put into operation since early May. On 25 and 27 of May, the senior representative and other directors from Kimberly Clark Corp. had paid a visit to the center. Mr. Peter Bennett, Executive Manager of Kimberly Clark South Asia, was very pleased with the quality of the project as well as the operation management system of the distribution center. He believed Tan Cang – Song Than ICD would effectively manage the distribution system, partaking in maximizing the benefits for the company.
In May, Tan Cang – Song Than ICD was the winning tenderer for the supply of CFS services to APL Logistics. Tan Cang – Song Than ICD will directly manage and operate 15,000 sqm of CFS warehouse with an average capacity of 55,000 cbm/month.
In late May, Mr. Do Van Tu, Chief Assessor of GIC (Guardian Independent Certification), had periodically inspected the quality management system of Tan Cang – Song Than ICD. At the end of the workday, Mr. Tu said he was very pleased with the outcome and confirmed he would propose GIC to renew the ISO 9000:2008 certificate for Tan Cang – Song Than ICD.
