In the first six months of 2010, TCL has made year- on- year increase in term of the operation and business results. TCL has gained and surpassed the expected target. The year- on year increase of the turnover was more than 44% , the pre-tax profit increased 51,30 %. The volume handled at Tan Cang and Cat Lai CY, at the barge quays, the volume of CY-Shipside transportation and outernal transportation increased from 20- 35% in comparing to those of the same time last year. TCL has made such achievements thanks to the recovery of the economy, the import/export containers through Cat Lai and Cai Mep all increased sharply.
Regarding the investment project of TCL, the subsidiaries of TCL and the company which TCL is one of the founding shareholders namely Tan Cang shipping No 2 and Tan Cang- Cypress have achieved good results. Tan Cang shipping No 2 barged 161,715 teus in the first six months of 2010 – a year-on year increase of 145,96%. Tan Cang- Cypress has been operational since May 2010 and in June, Tan Cang- Cypress barged 898 teus (16 voyages-4 voyages/week). The other projects like Sunimex project (the warehouses and depot for empty storage on the land of 10 hectares which is located next to the Cat Lai terminal), ICD Tan Cang- Cai Mep, the barge quay at Cat Lai were all carried well.
Tan Cang shipping No 2 has the daily barging services from Mekong Delta (My Thoi Terminal) to Ho Chi Minh city, Cai Mep and vice versa. In the end of this July, the company shall deploy the barging services from Can Tho and Cai Cui Terminal to Ho Chi Minh city and Thi Vai Cai Mep. The company has also discussed with the customers and in the time to come, it shall carry out the rice stuffing services at Can Tho, Cai Cui, My Thoi Terminals and then transported rice containers to Tan Cang- Cat Lai and Tan Cang- Cai Mep Terminals.
