It has been one month since the new terminal operating system TOPX was put into operation at Cat Lai port. The operaration and the vessel handling productivity has been much improved with very encouraging news. The average berth productivity reached 39,8 moves/vessel hour. The M/V WANHAI 202 V.N257 was handled with the maximum productivity of 52.6 moves/vh. The yard occupancy was only 71.1%. When the previous teminal operating system (the CMS) was operational, it took the consignees about one day to wait for the container location updated into the system. TOPX allows the container location to be updated in the real- time by the hanhelds on the RTGs and Reachstackers. This function helps to shorten the receipt/ delivery time.
Cat Lai will try to reach the productivity of 50 moves/vessel hour in the time to come.
